Ever since J-Man has been exposed to the outdoors I have been very careful about keeping him protected from the sun. Skin cancer runs in my family so I am fearful of it and I try to protect J-Man as best possible.

With that said, we have tried numerous sun hats while on our outdoor adventures and the one J-Man wears now is my favorite.

We picked up this sun hat in Bishop, CA while on our Death Valley trip back in March. It was the first time I had seen the hat, so I snatched it up right away. (I love finding new and unique stuff on our travels) This hat has not disappointed.

Outdoor Research Kid’s Sun Runner Hat

The hat is made of nylon so it is super lightweight and it has a UPF of 30, which means the sun is not going to penetrate through the fabric. That’s is extra protection!

It has ample protection for the neck, ears and the front of the face. I love that it has a velcro attachment in front to provide additional coverage..

I also like that it comes in neutral colors instead of patterns.

Usually, there are pro’s and con’s to reviewing gear but with this sun hat I have only found one con.

Con: Wish there was a cinch cord on the back to keep it more snug on the head.
