Adventure Tykes

Where to begin…first and foremost I want you all to know that I am NOT a writer.  I never have been and never will be. I have a hard time putting my thoughts and ideas down on paper, so I am apologizing now for any nonsensical posts with poor grammar and punctuation. I would love to improve my writing skills and maybe as I continue to write it will improve. We can only hope so.

What I am is a mother, wife, runner, outdoor lover, amateur chef, a big goof ball and a shopaholic. I do the latter two very well. Ask anyone who knows me.

I started Adventure Tykes back in November 2009, 7 months after my son was born. I had this grand idea to share information with parents on how to get into the outdoors or back into the outdoors once they had kids. I wanted people to know that it is possible. I wanted to share my outdoor experiences with my son with them. I wanted to sell the gear to help them accomplish that goal and have a forum so people could chat, ask questions or get ideas from each other. Needless to say, I tried it, the store flopped, the forum flopped, so in the end I shut down both of those sections and just kept the blog. I don’t do it to get paid, I do it because I enjoy it and I love helping others. Hopefully, by stopping by it will have motivated and inspired you to get out and play with your tyke.
